An Evening with Michael Vincent – The Anatomy of Strong Magic

Hull Magicians’ Circle is delighted to welcome the internationally acclaimed Michael Vincent for a very special evening exploring The Anatomy of Strong Magic.

The evening will begin with a performance from Michael, allowing members to experience his magic exactly as an audience would. This performance then sets the context for an in-depth conversation about what makes magic truly strong, memorable and magical.

Michael will explore his creative process and explain how he designs his magic not simply to fool an audience, but to create a genuine feeling of wonder. Through performances, discussion and practical examples, he will share the thinking, structure and philosophy behind his approach to classical close-up magic.

During the evening, Michael will discuss and demonstrate material including:

  • Classic Strong Magic

  • The Slot Machine

  • Supercharged Coins Through Table

  • Thoughts on Card Magic

  • Intuition Speller

  • Synthetic

  • Think A Card

  • Card Up Sleeve

  • Miracle Card to Pocket

  • Plus much more

This promises to be much more than a traditional magic lecture. It is an opportunity to see a master performer at work and then explore the decisions, thinking and experience that sit behind the performance.

Whether you are interested in cards, coins, sleight of hand, presentation or simply making your own magic stronger, An Evening with Michael Vincent promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking night for magicians of all levels.

About Michael Vincent

Michael Vincent is internationally recognised as one of the world's leading close-up magicians and sleight-of-hand artists.

Over a career spanning more than four decades, Michael has performed around the world for royalty, celebrities, major corporations and private audiences. His performances have taken him to prestigious venues including Hollywood's world-famous Magic Castle, international casinos and the London Palladium, where he received a standing ovation in 2023.

Michael is a three-time winner of The Magic Circle's Close-Up Magician of the Year award, achieving the title in 1983, 1991 and 2003, and was named International Magician of the Year in 1993.

Throughout his development as a magician, Michael had the opportunity to study with and learn from some of the most influential names in magic, including Tony Slydini, Alan Alan, Cy Endfield, Harry Lorayne, Derek Dingle and Larry Jennings.

His sophisticated approach combines technical excellence with presentation, psychology and a deep understanding of how an audience experiences magic. Rather than focusing solely on methods and techniques, Michael's work explores how magic can create a genuine sense of wonder.

In 2009, Michael founded The Vincent Academy, allowing him to pass on the knowledge and experience gained throughout his career to magicians around the world through coaching, teaching and mentoring.

Michael continues to perform, teach and explore the craft of magic, sharing his philosophy of refined classical magic with a new generation of performers.
